Dark Chocolate Covered Raisins Recipe
Ingredients
- Dark Chocolate
- Raisins
- Optional flair
Instructions
- Prep Time: Start by lining a baking sheet with parchment paper. This little prep step will help you big time later, making cleanup just a wipe away.
- Melting the Chocolate: Chop the dark chocolate into uniform pieces – this helps it melt evenly without any pesky lumps. Now, you can melt it one of two ways:
- Microwave: Put the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and zap it in 30-second bursts, stirring in between each zap. Keep a close eye to avoid any chocolate disasters (nobody likes burned chocolate!).
- Double Boiler: If you’re feeling a tad more chef-like, go for a double boiler. Just put your chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water. Make sure the water doesn’t touch the bottom of the bowl. Stir gently until it’s smooth and velvety.
- Combining the Heroes: Once your chocolate is melted, toss in the raisins. Stir them around to get an even coat of that glorious dark chocolate.
- Setting the Stage: Use a fork to fish the raisins out, letting excess chocolate drip away, and place them on your prepared baking sheet. Don’t let them clump together unless you want a raisin-chocolate mega-clump – which actually doesn’t sound too bad…
- Chill Out: Pop the baking sheet into the fridge. Let the chocolate set until it's firm. This could take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, but who’s counting when there’s chocolate in the mix?
- Enjoy! Once set, peel the raisins off the parchment, and enjoy right away or store them in an airtight container.
