Description

A bold, spice-crusted salmon fillet seared to perfection and finished with a sweet and savory honey garlic reduction.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Mix paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  2. Pat salmon fillets dry and press the spice rub firmly into the top and sides of each fillet.
  3. Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  4. Place salmon seasoned-side down and sear for 3-4 minutes until a dark crust forms.
  5. Flip the fillets and cook for another 3-4 minutes until just cooked through.
  6. In a separate small pan, melt butter over medium heat and sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds.
  7. Whisk in honey, soy sauce, and lemon juice; simmer for 2 minutes until thickened.
  8. Spoon the glaze over the salmon fillets and serve immediately.
