Description

Savory meatballs glazed in a tart and zesty cranberry-orange sauce. A perfect balance of sweet and savory for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce (whole berry preferred)
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until combined.
  2. Roll the meat mixture into 20 small balls, approximately 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the meatballs in batches, turning frequently until seared on all sides.
  4. Remove meatballs from the pan and set aside. In the same skillet, pour in orange juice and scrape the bottom to remove browned bits.
  5. Stir in the cranberry sauce and orange zest. Simmer over medium heat until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened.
  6. Return meatballs to the pan and toss to coat. Simmer for 5-8 minutes until the glaze is sticky and meatballs are cooked through.
