- 4 cups pitted cherries (fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup milk
Instructions
- In a bowl, toss the pitted cherries with 1/2 cup sugar and cornstarch until coated.
- Pour the cherry mixture into the bottom of a greased slow cooker.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, 3/4 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in the melted butter and milk until just combined; do not overmix.
- Spoon the batter in dollops over the cherries, leaving some fruit visible.
- Cover and cook on Low for 6-8 hours or High for 3-4 hours until the topping is set and bubbling.
