Description

A hearty, one-pot soup that combines the flavors of traditional stuffed cabbage rolls. Savory ground beef, tender cabbage, and rice simmered in a rich tomato broth.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 cups beef broth
  • 1 small head of green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large pot over medium-high heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pot and sauté for 5 minutes until translucent.
  3. Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 1 minute to deepen the flavor.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth. Stir well and bring to a boil.
  5. Add the chopped cabbage to the pot and reduce heat to low.
  6. Cover and simmer for 20-30 minutes until the cabbage is tender.
  7. Stir in the uncooked white rice and simmer for an additional 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked through.
