Description

A rich, velvety hot chocolate made with real melted chocolate and topped with a light, minty whipped cream for a refreshing contrast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream, chilled
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Place the mixing bowl and whisk in the freezer for 10 minutes to chill.
  2. Combine chilled heavy cream, powdered sugar, and peppermint extract in the chilled bowl. Beat on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form.
  3. Pour milk into a saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent scorching.
  4. Reduce heat to low and whisk in the chopped chocolate until completely melted and smooth.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  6. Pour the cocoa into mugs and top with a large dollop of the peppermint whipped cream.
