- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 oz dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, browned and cooled
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F (175C) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt melted butter and dark chocolate together until smooth; stir in 1 cup sugar, 2 eggs, and vanilla.
- Sift in 1/2 cup flour, cocoa powder, and salt; fold until just combined and spread into the pan.
- Cream browned butter with both sugars; beat in the egg and vanilla until fluffy.
- Stir in 1 cup flour and baking soda, then fold in chocolate chips.
- Dollop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough over the brownie base, leaving small gaps.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until edges are set but center remains slightly soft.
- Cool completely in the pan for 2 hours before slicing into squares.
