- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda

- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until pale and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips with a spatula.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the baking sheets, 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
- Cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
