Description

A rich and earthy mushroom gravy infused with fresh rosemary and garlic. This savory sauce is perfect for pairing with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or holiday proteins.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sliced mushrooms in a single layer and cook undisturbed for 3-5 minutes until deeply browned.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and chopped rosemary; cook for 60-90 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir constantly for 2 minutes to cook out the raw flour taste.
  5. Slowly pour in vegetable broth while whisking vigorously, scraping the bottom of the pan to release browned bits.
  6. Simmer on medium-low for 5-10 minutes until the sauce thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  7. Stir in heavy cream and black pepper, then remove from heat immediately.
