Description

Juicy chicken tenders coated in a buttery, toasted pecan crust and air fried to golden perfection. A sophisticated, low-carb twist on classic chicken strips.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken tenders
  • 1 cup pecans, finely crushed
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Pulse pecans in a food processor until they are coarse crumbs, then transfer to a shallow bowl.
  2. Stir smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper into the pecan crumbs.
  3. Whisk eggs in a separate bowl until smooth.
  4. Dip each chicken tender into the egg wash, letting excess drip off, then press firmly into the pecan mixture until fully coated.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 375°F and lightly spray the basket with olive oil.
  6. Place tenders in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they do not touch.
  7. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the crust is golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  8. Let the tenders rest on a wire rack for 3 minutes before serving.
