Description

A hearty and comforting breakfast casserole that cooks slowly overnight. Made with savory sausage, melted cheddar, and fluffy eggs for an effortless morning meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground breakfast sausage
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 20 oz frozen cubed hash browns
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground sausage in a skillet over medium heat until cooked through. Drain the grease and set aside.
  2. Grease the inside of a slow cooker with butter or non-stick spray.
  3. Spread the frozen hash browns evenly across the bottom of the slow cooker.
  4. Layer the cooked sausage over the potatoes.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the sausage and potatoes.
  7. Top the mixture with shredded cheddar cheese and sliced green onions.
  8. Cover and cook on Low for 7-8 hours or High for 3-4 hours until the center is set.
