  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp strong brewed espresso
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp espresso powder
  • 1 tbsp heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9-inch pan with parchment or a silicone mat.
  2. Whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Melt butter and let it cool; whisk in eggs, vanilla, and hot espresso until smooth.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just mixed.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan, spreading evenly.
  6. Bake 20–22 minutes until edges set but center remains slightly soft.
  7. Cool completely on a wire rack before cutting.
  8. Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, espresso powder, and heavy cream until fluffy.
  9. Spread frosting over cooled brownies and refrigerate 15 minutes to set.
  10. Dust with cocoa powder before serving.
